Profile of ITI Gandhidham

There is a different types of Industries are grown up in our country. So, there are multiple industries started in Gujarat & Kutch. Shree Narendra Bhai Modi Honourable Chief Minister's eye & leadership there are so many, national & international industries are eager to deposit money in Gujarat state. More & more special economic Zones are to be announced. It is specialities of our state, that is peacefulness of industries sector.

Under guidance of Labour & Employment Department of Gujarat Government and Directorate of Employment & Training. Gandhinager various Industrial trades & schemes are running successfully, for candidates to get employment as well as self employment.These Industrial Training Institutes are running & well settled to perform their duty to produce, skilled manpower of needs in various industries.

It is decided, that to starts the ITI's for providing skill Labour in the country, by the 2nd planing commission.

History of ITI Gandhidham

In view of that central Govt. State govt. has also decided to start the ITI's in Gujarat on 15th august 1957 "Swantntra Divas" ITI Gandhidham was started at Adipur , with the seats of 64 trainee in DM , DC , FT & sheetmetal trades.
Next year in 1958 another trades like TR, ET, & WD are started with the 68 seats.
In 1959, these all trades seats make double with the seats 168 & staff capacity of 42.
In 1962, MMW trade started for the need of Transport (section) secter.
In 1972-73, popular trades like GM, Plumber, ECEM, started on behalf of un-popular trades, with 64 seats & 36 Employess. Thus institute Become 240 total seats training capacity.
In 1979, Educational Employemnt relif scheme the target were 40 un-employed training in every year to help them for employment.
In 1980, 2nd batch of DM & new WM trade started, as well as WM, FT, WD, Blacksmith 6 months trade started in TRYSEM scheme. Now institute is running in three shifts with 108 added seats in this year.
In 1981, the shed was purchesed of G.I.D.C. at Bhuj & training started.
In 1983, under Craftsman Training scheme there was 592 seats capacity in this I.T.I in three shifts.
In this continus progress running of this Institute, on the day 26 th Jan. 2001, havey earth quake has came in Kutch & Gujarat Adm Building, workshop & quarters were collapsed. So department has decided to 76 seats transfered at another ITI's. Only Hostel Building is remain present.Thus Atleast 25% seats reduced.
Now days, there are 504 Seats are running in this institute in different scheme like CTS, MES, CoE & Appreal park in 11 trades. As well as Apprentice scheme is successfully running in this Kutch District , with the seats 2931 total no. Of units 167 (working + closed establishment & seak units).
